Support for the seventh generation of video game hardware continued, with video games being released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Wii U home consoles.
Eighth generation consoles (2012-)[ | ]
The 2010s also saw the birth of the eighth generation of video game hardware, starting off with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, the functionality of both later extended with the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. Nintendo later joined with the Nintendo Switch.
