Alien³ is a side-scrolling game released in 1993 for the SNES. It is different to the multi-platform release of the same name. The game consists of six levels loosely based on the events in Alien³, however the game also contain elements from the film Aliens such as the Alien Queen.
Story[edit | edit source]
Lt. Ellen Ripley has crash-landed on Fiorina 'Fury' 161, which houses a prison facility for dangerous criminals. The aliens she has been fighting have also landed on the planet with her and are reproducing again. The objective of the game is to rescue convicts in the prison facility from xenomorphs.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
The gameplay, though similar to the other releases, focuses more on completing various missions than scoring points, which is totally absent in this version. Ripley is armed with a rapid-fire machine gun, a grenade launcher, and a flamethrower that she can use to good effect against the various forms of the aliens she encounters. On some missions she will rescue prisoners; on others, she will seal doors shut. Make sure Ripley is in full health and fully stocked with her weapons, because she will need them when things get really hairy.
