The Atari XE Game System was the last in the line of 8-bit consoles developed and manufactured by Atari. Its design featured a detachable full-stroke keyboard and a memory module with a diagonally-oriented cartridge slot and pastel-colored buttons. Its primary target audience were gamers in the same age range as those who were players of the Nintendo Entertainment System and Master System line of games.
