Another alternate-history type game, much like Freedom Fighters, except instead of asking "What if the cold war was lost?", Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs asks the more logical, "What if we found alien technology on the moon when the United States landed?"
Well, in Battlezone: RotBD, the Soviet & US government hide it from the public, and battle for military occupation of the moon behind the scenes. During the story mode, you choose one of three factions: The Americans, The Soviets, and the Black Dogs who are apparently rising. The game features similarities to BattleTanx: Global Assault, another Nintendo 64 title, but with faster, unrealistic & arcadey tanks. There are also other vehicles besides tanks.
