Bottles are one of the most commonly used item in The Legend of Zelda series and has become a handy device for carrying various objects (liquid or otherwise) that Link carries on his journeys.

From The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, this Item was always made to help Link and although it may seem pointless in the beginning, later on in the game, it has a variety of uses.
