Basic Information

Crossplay means that players of a video game on one device can interact with those playing the same video game on another, different device. In recent years, this has come to mean that players using consoles can play with those on other consoles as well as those on PC. For years, it was an open secret that Sony was forbidding that developers allow multi-player crossplay with other consoles; this was finally confirmed when one particular video game on the PlayStation 4 accidentally had crossplay on release.
