A DPS check is a boss with a specific mechanic that relies on the raid group as a whole outputting a specific amount of damage or greater within a time limit. If this time limit is reached, an enrage mechanic is usually triggered, either making it progressively more difficult to defeat over time from that point on, or outright slaughtering the group.
