The Dark World is an evil version of Hyrule that Ganon has control over in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Entry into this area is usually done through portals, and without a certain item usually results in the traveler changing form such as Link turning into a bunny. Additionally, there are no portals leading out of the Dark World, so another item is required to leave it.
