Deku Nuts are recurring items in The Legend of Zelda series. They first made an appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as an item that Link could purchase from a store, or find by killing a Deku Baba. When used, a Deku Nut causes a flash of light that blinds nearby opponents. Two members of the Sheikah tribe use Deku Nuts as an escape. In The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the Deku Nuts reprise their role as a "flash-bang" in the N64 sequel. In Deku form, Link can fire them while in the air. In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Deku Nuts are store valuable things within their shells, such as Pumpkin Seeds and Rupees.
Deku Nuts are featured in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an item, trophy, and sticker. When grabbed, they can be tossed at another character and explodes on impact, causing significant knockback and stunning everyone around them for 4 seconds. Deku Nut can explode whenever, so be careful when in the vicinity.
