E3 2009

E3 2009 was a video game show held between June 1 through June 4, 2009 in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

June 1[edit | edit source]

At 10:30 Microsoft gave a press conference featuring their new natal motion controller. They also showed trailers of the new game Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, and Left for Dead 2. There will also be a custom controller for Halo 3: ODST. Forza 3 is also scheduled to be released in October.

Bungie also announce their new Halo game Halo: Reach which is set to be released in 2010

At 2pm EA held a press conference where EA sports announced the addition of a MMA game and Mass Effect 2.

After EAs press conference BioWare announced Star Wars: The Old Republic a new MMO game. They also showed off new games such as Brutal Legend and All Points Bulletin (APB)

At 5pm Ubisoft gave a press conference where they showed off features for Assassin's Creed II and announced their production of a Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn game.

Konami showed off a trailer debuting their new game Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the Xbox 360. The game will feature Raiden as the main character.

At 9 AM Nintendo held a press conference where they announced Metroid: Other M, a first person and third person Metroid game which will be developed by Team Ninja instead of Retro Studios. For the DS Nintendo announced that another Golden Sun game, Golden Sun DS, will be released on the DS in 2010. Super Mario Galaxy 2 the sequel to Super Mario Galaxy debut today in the press conference.

Tecmo showed of their Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 game which will add Rachael to the roster. Activision also released footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

At 11AM Sony held a press conference showing off God of War III and a trailer to Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. They also announced the new PSP the PSP Go which is set to be released October 1 in US and Europe for $249 and November 1 in Japan.

Two new games were announced for the PSP, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker takes place 10 years after Metal Gear Solid 3 where the player will play as Solid Snake. Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is a standard soul calibur game which will feature Kratos from God of War.
