The F-Zero series is the grandfather of all Futuristic Racer. Developed by Nintendo under the guidance of Shigeru Miyamoto, the series focus on blazing fast races and demands players course memorization and perfect racing skills. The games often feature many vehicles on the tracks at once. The tracks themselves are high speed and feature wacky loops & twists.
The F-Zero series has remained stagnant for over 14 years; the last release was F-Zero: Climax in 2004 (only in Japan). Characters and others properties continually make cameo appearances in other Nintendo video games, such as Captain Falcon's inclusion as a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series and the Blue Falcon appearing as a vehicle in the Mario Kart series.
