Dune is a game released for the personal computers as well as for the Sega CD. It is based on the popular book series of the same name.

Gameplay[ | ]

The objective in the game is to eliminate the Harkonnen forces to the north. To do so, you will directly control Paul Atreides, and will need to convince the various Fremen tribes across Dune to join you. However, you will also need to collect enough spice for shipments to the Emperor to avoid being expelled from Dune.

Initially, you will need to fly to the nearby sietchs in order to convince them to start spice collection.

Spice[ | ]

Spice collection is the first action that the Fremen will perform for you. They will collect spice located in the sand and will send any spice collected to the palace.

The rate of collection is increased by a Harvester. However, a harvester will attract a Sand Worm attack, although an Ornithopter can detect an incoming attack and bring the harvester out of danger.

Military[ | ]

Once you meet Stilgar, you can train the Fremen in combat and espionage. The fighting power of the troops can be increased with any available weapons, such as crysknives, laser guns, wierding modules, and atomics. Tribes trained for fighting can also scout enemy bases.

Ecology[ | ]

Ecology involves creating plant life on Dune, using the water collected from Windtraps. The effects of the plant life will destroy the spice and makes the terrain unusable for production.
