Magicite is a term from the Final Fantasy series. It has appeared in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and Final Fantasy VI, playing a different role in each game.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles[ | ]
Magicite appears in all of the levels as large colored spheres. These spheres grant the characters magical abilities, but disappear at the end of each stage.
Final Fantasy VI[ | ]
Magicite is the stone form of an Esper. Once an Esper dies, they turn into Magicite. It's this Magicite that grants the heroes the ability to wield magic and the ability to call or summon an Esper during combat. There are 27 Magicite total in the game.
After each battle with an Esper equipped, magic points are added to each of a specific list of spells (depending on the Esper equipped). When the required number of magic points is reached, the spell is learned and usable from that point on.
