Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a 2014 Indie Built survival horror video game created by Scott Cawthon. It is a prequel to Five Nights at Freddy's, as it is chronologically set before the events of the first game.

Similar to the previous game, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 centers around the fictitious Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where the player assumes the role of a security guard and must defend their self from the restaurant's animatronic mascots.

It was succeeded by Five Nights at Freddy's 3, which was released on March 2, 2015.

The following information is gathered through statements that Scott has released through his yahoo account,

  • Scott's first message pertaining to the game was in a response to a statement by a fan stating that the "sequel is on the way". The exact date this was posted is unknown.
  • Scott later confirmed in another short response to a fan that the release date is set at 2015, with an unknown month release not yet determined by Scott. The exact date this was posted is unknown.
  • One small piece of character information was released by Scott pertaining to the animatronic Foxy the pirate fox, stating that "Foxy will be back, in more ways than one ;)". This message was posted on September 29th, 2014."
