Freeway is a game released for the Atari 2600. The game was released around the same time as a similar arcade game, Konami's Frogger.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

One or two players simultaneously play as chickens trying to cross the road to get to the other side, as the old joke goes, but the way across is not easy, because there are various types of cars moving at various speeds. Depending on the skill level setting you choose, getting hit by a car can send your chicken either back a few lanes or all the way back down to the bottom of the screen. Succeed in reaching the top and you'll earn a point. The goal is to see how many times you can get your chicken to the other side of the road within a 2-minute, 16-second time limit for the game.
