Gauntlet Legends is a well known arcade hack and slash style game that was eventually ported to the N64, and later the PlayStation and Dreamcast. The game features 4 playable characters - a wizard, a warrior, a valkyrie and an archer. Each player takes control of one character, and the fun lies in dungeon crawling as a team. You and your team mates will be navigating dungeons, while beating up enemy monsters, occasionally casting spells. There are a few traps and/or obstacles to navigate through.

Even in the arcade version, players could save their character progress by inputting initials and a short 3 space password to use go back to where they left off (In terms of character strength and level) when they visited the machine again.

The game is entirely co-op. There is no versus mode available.
