Guitar Hero is a rhythm video game developed by Harmonix. It is the first game in the Guitar Hero series, and was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005 and 2006. The game was also to be released on Xbox, but the plans were cancelled following a lawsuit by Konami. The game used a guitar peripheral that was shaped after a Gibson SG, to simulate a real guitar.
