Interplay was founded in 1984 by Brian Fargo and being sold in 1998 to the company Titus Software because of bankruptcy. In 2004 though Interplay faces bankruptcy again and get closed until 2006 where they sell the IP of the Fallout series, one of their biggest and most famous franchise, to Bethesda Softworks and announce their return to the game industry.

- Shiny Entertainment in Laguna Beach, California, founded in October 1993, acquired 1995, sold to Atari in 2002.
