Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters is a game published and developed by Nintendo for the Game Boy, and was first released in November 1991. The game was not released in Japan. It is a sequel to the original Kid Icarus (released for the Family Computer Disk System in 1986 and NES in 1987) and it uses the same engine as Metroid II: Return of Samus (similarly to how the original Kid Icarus used Metroid's engine).
