Like Navi in Ocarina of Time, the King of Red Lions serves as Link's advisor and companion in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. He's a talking boat, and after Link acquires a sail the red King becomes indispensable, allowing Link to cross the Great Sea with ease. The King talks frequently and gives Link advice on where he must go and what he must do to save his sister and conquer evil. The King of Red Lions also gives Link the Wind Waker item, a conductor's baton with the power to control the wind. spoiler The King of Red Lions was created by King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule. Through magic, King Hyrule communicates with Link using The King of Red Lions ship and eventually manipulates him into realizing his destiny as the Hero of Wind. The Legend of Zelda stub
