The first game in the series follows the story of a 14 year old boy named Sora who lives on Destiny Island with his two best friends, Kairi and Riku. After his island is destroyed by the power of darkness, he becomes separated from his friends and finds himself in another world with the ability to control the keyblade. He befriends Donald Duck and Goofy Goof who assist him on his quest to find his friends.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories[edit | edit source]

Taking place directly after the events of the first game, Sora visits Castle Oblivion, effectively erasing the memories of characters he had previous met. Unlike the first game which had real-time combat elements, this one uses a card-based system for combat.
