Little Master is a series of tactical RPGs released on the Game Boy and Super Nintendo in Japan. There are three games in the series, Little Master for the Game Boy, released in 1991, Little Master 2, released a year later for the Game Boy, and Little Master: Niji Iro no Maseki (lit. Jewels of the Rainbow), for the SNES, released in 1995.[1] Each game in the series was developed and published by Tokuma Shoten and none of the games have seen a North American localization.

Gameplay[ | ]

Each of the Little Master games is a tactical RPG. Players control a party of characters that can be moved around a grid during battle. Battles are fought in turns, meaning that the character with the highest speed will be able to move and attack first, then the character with the next highest speed will be able to move. Characters can use physical attacks when standing next to an enemy on the battle map or they can use magic or bows to attack enemies from a distance. During battle, the player may have to solve a puzzle to complete the stage.

When a character attacks another character, the battle field disappears and only the two characters currently in combat are shown. After the attack animations, experience points are awarded to the player's character that participated in the fight. If a character is adjacent to the character he or she is targeting, the attacked character will counter with his or her own attack.
