M4A4 Tank is an enemy from Super Contra.
It is a miniboss in the first stage. It is a medium sized tank with a cannon on the front and a soldier sitting in the cockpit aiming with a minigun on the tank. It appears in the first stage and as the player moves on, the player will encounter this enemy rise up on a platform and will be forced to destroy the tank. The tank will move back and forth while the soldier on top will fire projectiles from the minigun. The tank rarely shoots and will periodically shoot a shell. If the soldier on top is defeated, the tank will lose control and move forward nonstop. The player must then hit it a few more times to destroy the tank.
