Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is a 3D platformer released for Sony's PlayStation 3 in late 2007. It continues the story that has woven through all of the Ratchet & Clank series, wherein Captain Qwark is attempting to stop Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek from taking over the universe. The main antagonist in Tools of Destruction is Emperor Percival Tachyon.

In late 2007, it was announced that Sony's forthcoming DualShock 3 would be supported by the game when the peripheral shipped; the DualShock was available in Japan as of November 2007, but was not expected to launch in the rest of the world until March 2008.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Tools of Destruction garnered many "best-of" awards for 2007, including "Best Animation"[1] from X-Play's Best of 2007 wrap-up show. It was the runner-up for the Associated Press' Best Games of 2007,[2] and placed eighth on Gamasutra's Top 10 Games of 2007.[3]
