Rocket jumping
Basic Information
Type(s)
Terminology

Rocket Jumping is a term used when a player is shooting rocket under his/her feet in order to gain extra height. In most cases, the player will take damage from the blast and the fall, this technique can also be used on walls in some cases.

Rocket jumps are only viable in games where rockets aren't too powerful to heavily damage the user (1 or 2 blasts to kill it) and that apply good knockback.

To perform a Rocket jump, the user must aim at the ground with a Rocket launcher (preferably while moving) then jump and fire a missile with a small window of time (this obviously varies a lot between games).

Rocket jumping was popular as early as 1996 when Quake was released, it is commonly used for fast re-position, movement, dodging, etc.
