S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a pseudo-rpg first-person view survival horror game, set in the ruins and surroundings of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster zone. The year is 2012 and you play the role of the Marked One, who awakens on the table of a local trader after being found in the wreckage of a "death truck."

Style[edit | edit source]

The game features a first-person shooter style interface wedded to a RPG-style inventory system. The game features an immensely engaging and authentic atmosphere with locations ranging from an open hilly landscape to barely lit underground ruins.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • Many stashes fail to generate equipment and will not be removed from the map when accessed.
  • For the Duty'ers Weapon quests, the bandit Friar who has it is as likely to be found in the Agro complex catacombs with a false PDA map icon, as he is in an actual location.
  • Many times a glitch during the load sequence will not allow the player to interact with certain NPCs or objects, leading to a CTD (Crash to Desktop).
