The Seventh Generation Consoles (2005-2019) expanded the home console market. This era greatly improved the concept of gaming with new standards. Microsoft released the Xbox 360, which innovated gaming with its concept of community and online gaming. One year later, the Xbox 360's competitors came into the market, with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. The PlayStation 3 technologically advanced specs, and introduced a focus on entertainment with its Blu-ray and downloadable movie capabilities. The Wii was focused on accessibility in an attempt to win over casual gamers. The next generation began in late 2012 with Nintendo's Wii U, with Sony and Microsoft releasing their consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively, in late 2013.
