Terminology

A Star system is a local neighborhood of astronomical elements, centered around a gravitational anchor, such as a star (or in the case of multiple stars, those stars' barycenter) or a stellar remnant (a white dwarf, neutron star or black hole). Star systems may or may not include planets, but in general, they may share similar features to our star system, such as an Oort Cloud (where material collects at the edge of the star's gravitational attraction, generally understood to be low-mass rock and ice).
