Streamline Studios was an independent Dutch outsourcing and game developing studio. It was founded in 2001 in Amsterdam. It filed for bankruptcy in 2009, claiming foreign competition and failure of a major customer.

History

They worked on Gunman Chronicles (back then the company was named Rewolf Software), Unreal Tournament 2004, Saint's Row, Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3 among others.

Black Hole Recordings, an independent music company label founded in 1997 and Streamline Studios have confirmed the formation of Streamline Sound, a joint venture which will provide sound solutions for digital entertainment. Streamline Sound combines audio services and 5.1 studio with the artist catalog of Black Hole Recordings, including Grammy-nominated electronic music superstar Tiësto and a large number of independent composers and musicians.[2]

Streamline Sound provides one-stop shopping for game developers and publishers, with comprehensive music and audio services, music licensing, and an innovative music publishing model. Original game music soundtracks released on Streamline Records can put money back into the pocket of the publisher or developer who commissioned the work.

Streamline Sound has three main artists, ambient classical composer Geert Huinink, and electronic producer Tiësto. Geert Huinink has been assigned to compose game soundtracks and is part of the Virtualish project to create video game scores in a theatrical show.[3] Streamline Sound will release the soundtrack of Korean MMORPG Granado Espada in the first half of 2008.[4]

Bankruptcy

In November 2009, Streamline Studios filed for bankruptcy protection. According to the owners, cheap foreign competition as well as the bankruptcy of a major debtor were major causes. They also stated not to believe in a successful reorganization; all employees will be dismissed.
