Super Mario's Wacky Worlds, or SMWW, was intended to be a sequel to Nintendo's beloved Mario platformer, Super Mario World. Developed by Novalogic, the game was to be released on the ill-fated Philips CD-i platform, but never saw release.
Beginning development in early 1992, the project continued until at least March 3, 1993, the date when the final known prototype version of the game was burned to CD. Unlike Hotel Mario, the CD-i's other Mario game, Super Mario's Wacky Worlds was to remain faithful to the gameplay mechanics found in previous Mario platformers.
