Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is a game released for the Game Boy. It is the sequel to Super Mario Land, and is the first game to feature the character Wario.

Story[edit | edit source]

Wario, a twisted version of Mario, has taken over Mario Land, brainwashing its residents into believing Wario is their hero and Mario is their enemy. He has taken over Mario's palace in order to have a palace of his own. Mario must go around the various territories of Mario Land to find the six golden coins that will give him access to his own castle and defeat Wario.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

It is identical to the games in the Super Mario Bros. series in that Mario must jump over platforms and various creatures in order to make it to the end of the level he's on. Goombas and Koopas appear in this game along with other kinds of enemies. Mario can jump onto some enemies to defeat them, while others require different methods such as using the powerball. Like Super Mario World, any of the levels except for the introductory stage can be replayed once Mario conquers them.
