Takashi Nishiyama
Biographical Information

Takashi Nishiyama (西山 隆志 Nishiyama Takashi) is a director, producer and games designer, and is the president of Dimps. He is known as the creator of some of the most important fighting games in the beat 'em up and versus fighting genres.

Career[ | ]

At Irem, he pioneered parallax scrolling with Moon Patrol (1982), and then developed Kung-Fu Master (1984), the first side-scrolling beat 'em up. He then worked at Capcom for several years, during which he created the Street Fighter franchise in 1987. He then joined SNK in 1989, and is credited with developing the Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and The King of Fighters franchises. Sometimes credited as "Piston Takashi" or "T. Nishiyama".
