Battle[edit | edit source]
ToL uses the X-LiMBS battle system to create real time battles on a 2-D plane. Each of the characters has a basic specialty, such as healing, sword combat, or hand to hand.
Traveling[edit | edit source]
ToL has a tradition RPG World Map, Town Map, Dungeon Set-up, in which the camera is set at a high angle. Directions are given in relation to the Legacy, not North. Dungeons and Puzzles are commonly long adventures with few save points in between, so traveling to places takes a spot of patience.
Plot[edit | edit source]
Senel and his sister Shirley are adrift at sea in a small ship, wandering aimlessly, fighting storms and waves. To make matters worse, Shirley will die if exposed to salty sea air or water for too long. When all hope seems lost, however, they spot a light through the fog. Then, out of nowhere, an island speeds towards them and destroys their ship. They wake up on a beach and try to find their bearings.
