Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game and the tenth entry in the Tomb Raider franchise. The game serves as both a reboot and origin story for the series, featuring a younger and inexperienced Lara Croft. Part of a shipwrecked expedition to locate the lost kingdom of Yamatai, Lara is forced to fight against a malevolent cult and uncover the mystery of the island in order to escape with her friends.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Plot[edit | edit source]
Lara Croft is a young archeologist who is part of an expedition searching for the lost Sino-Japanese kingdom of Yamatai, headed by floundering celebrity archeologist Dr. James Whitman. Also along the expedition is Conrad Roth, Lara's mentor and ex-Royal Marine; Sam Nishimura, Lara's college friend who is filming the expedition for a documentary; Angus "Grim" Grimaldi, the gruff Scottish helmsmen of the expedition's ship The Endurance; Joslin Reyes, the no-nonsense mechanic of the Endurance and a single-mother; Alex Weiss, a goofy and nerdy electrical engineer; and Jonah Maiava, a gentle giant who serves as the ship's cook.
Following Lara's theory, the Endurance enters the Dragon's Triangle.
