TrackMania 2: Canyon is a racing video game developed by Nadeo and published by Ubisoft. The game was announced at the Paris Game Festival on September 19, 2009. A beta test began on August 17, 2011 for Microsoft Windows and was officially released on September 14, 2011. It was originally set for November 20, 2010.[1]

Gameplay[ | ]

TrackMania 2: Canyon features a gameplay similar to previous games in the series. The player can race in various tracks with the ability to do stunts in various modes including a championship and a cooperative mode, along with a new split-screen mode.[2] The track editor from previous games also returns, and includes a new ability to create geometries and textures from scratch, instead of only using predefined parts like previous games.[1] A new "ManiaScript" is being created to help people to add new features in the game.[1] One new environment is featured called Canyon. Two more, Stadium and Valley, are featured on ManiaPlanet in the form of TrackMania 2: Stadium and TrackMania 2: Valley

TrackMania 2: Platform[ | ]

In July 2012, an expansion pack for TrackMania 2: Canyon, called TrackMania 2: Platform, was released on ManiaPlanet

History[ | ]

When the game was first announced, it was originally planned to be simply called TrackMania 2 and feature three environments, which did include Canyon, but it also featured Valley and an unreleased environment called "Arena." However, the game was eventually renamed and plans were changed to feature only the Canyon environment.
