TrackMania Sunrise (commonly abbreviated TMS) is a game in the TrackMania series.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

TrackMania Sunrise has gameplay that is similar to that of the first TrackMania. It features the track editor in which players can create their own tracks, but this time, it is more mouse-driven as opposed to the keyboard-driven and features Mediatracker, which makes special effects, like displaying text and changing the camera, possible.

There are three new environments: Island, Coast and Bay, each with its unique car to fit the environment's characteristics. It features the Race and Puzzle modes from the first game as well as two new modes: Platform and Crazy. The goal in Platform mode is to finish the track while respawning as least amount of times as possible, while Crazy requires players to complete a track three times in a row without exceeding the time limit.

In most TrackMania games, each track is given a name based on which series it is in and where it is in the series. For example, the sixth track in the D series in Puzzle mode would be called "PuzzleD6." However, in Sunrise, all the tracks and each series has their own individual names. This is the only game in the series to have this.

The game was built on an overhauled engine for better graphics, visuals, and internet connectivity with a peer-to-peer system. Players can also share and import new car models and skins and customize many more aspects of the game.

TrackMania Sunrise eXtreme[edit | edit source]

In November 2005, Nadeo released TrackMania Sunrise eXtreme, an expansion pack for TrackMania Sunrise.

Music[edit | edit source]

Each environment features four songs, most of which have lyrics. This is the first time in which the music in a TrackMania game has lyrics. The second and only other time this occurs is when Dancing in the Halls of Love plays in the Coast environment in TrackMania: Build to Race.
