Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is a first-person shooter based loosely on the comic books of the same name. The game was one of the first shooter games released on the Nintendo 64 and was well received for it's intuitive control scheme for a console game of this genre (This was before dual analog controls became the standard for most gaming controllers). The success of the first Turok game led developer Acclaim to release the following two sequels as Nintendo 64 exclusives as well as becoming one of the strongest third-party supporters of the system. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was later released on the PC.
