Ultima VII: Forge of Virtue was an expansion disk for Ultima VII: The Black Gate (touted as "the first add-in" when advertised), Forge of Virtue gave the player a new difficult island to conquer to finish off the last remnants of the titular evil the Avatar fought in Ultima III: Exodus. During the course of this side quest the player will forge The Black Sword, a magical weapon of unequalled power, as well as increase their strength, intelligence and dexterity to values far beyond the caps of the original game. The Black Sword went on to become a critical item in Ultima VII Part Two: Serpent Isle.
