This page was deleted because it similar to clan pages. Talk:NHL 09/EASHL for similar page in the past --Cs california 06:33, March 15, 2010 (UTC)
OK, I've read your one-man campaign against what the almighty and all-knowing Cs california considers to be clan pages. No apparent support from any other contributor. Not a hint of it in the wiki's stated policies.
You have given no actual reason for deleting my work. Clearly (based on this deletuion and your earlier complaints about several of my pages) you have little wish to see this wiki grow. I and Wiki management do want it to grow. You have 24 hours to restore that page or there will be trouble. Maybe you need to re-read Wiki's standard pages about the powers and responsibilities of administrators.
Robin Patterson (Talk) 01:38, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
You still did not give a reason for the page to be recovered.

Its is a clan based page (mentioned in the deletion) which involves organizing user accounts that Serve no relevance. Do you see any other clan pages here? no because they were deleted before

Our Deletion log backs this up

  1. 19:53, September 20, 2009 Cs california (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Clan EOL" ‎ (Clan crap) (view/restore)
  2. 21:11, January 30, 2009 Adan Aileron (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Pure rangers" ‎ (seems to be clan-related: content was: 'Pure rangers Range 3xp3rt f1am1ng4rr0w MOre...' (and the only contributor was 'Range 3xp3rt')) (view/restore)
  3. 01:36, August 25, 2008 Cs california (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "NHL 09/EASHL/PS3/HFBoards" ‎ (content was: '{{Deletion|Reason = Clan activity/ insignificant, move or delete. discuss on talk page}} Jersey prototype Team HFBoards are a squad of players in the EASHL on NHL 09. =Confi...') (view/restore)
  4. 12:09, May 4, 2008 Adan Aileron (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Necro Eclipse" ‎ (clan article; blanked by creator) (view/restore)

...etc

Instead of giving a valid reason you just give irrelevant threats and most of the policy was written by me and several of the active admins after the move so its not really up to date. Also I am not going to recover your page in 24 hrs. -Cs california 03:05, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Gaming news blog proposal[]

Hi, I'm Paweł from Wiki Gaming Team. Plese take a look at our proposal regarding making this wiki a source of all sorts of gaming news at User_blog:Ausir/Gaming_news_blog_proposal and tell us what you think! Ausir(talk) 20:05, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Hosting Wiki Category[]

I was trying to make a Wiki Category on a free MMO named N.E.O. New Era Odyssey. I was wondering if there a way to get something hosted separately that is a free. I am just trying to get a cheap non professional, not for profit resource for the game's community . In the next week or so I want to read more about page formating, and get icons so I can make it look like the WOW Wikki. Can you or someone else help me with that?

Thanks[]

Thanks for the welcome. This will probably sound stupid and/or sad but, could you help me with userboxes because I'm not so good with them yet.

Adminship[]

Just to let you know, I would be interested in adminship, even if it's just rollback for now. I want to fight these vicious vandals. Please respond when you have time. Thanks for listening. Zmario 11:01, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

I want to help mass import things threatened on the Wikipedia that are game related[]

Certain deletionists are making their rounds, eliminating list articles related to game articles. List of characters in a game, list of alien races in a game, individual character articles for game characters, etc. There are now 8,580 articles on manga.gamepedia.com, there less than a few dozen before I adopting it. I have created and maintained numerous wikis. Can you grant me administrative rights so I can import over things from the wikipedia? Dream Focus 13:22, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Just Copy and paste. I never needed admin rights to import stuff before. --Cs california 02:07, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
I asked here and then seeing user Wagnike2 had granted it recently to others, asked there as well, he granting it to me a few days ago. And using the import feature I was able to bring over thousands of articles at a time, that far less than working than doing copy and paste on them one by one. Got more than 10,000 new articles ported over I think. Don't remember how many were here before I started. Dream Focus 02:21, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Recent Imports[]

Well Darrylb500 isn't the one that has imported all the pages, that's Dream Focus. Just to let you knowVeilor 10:04, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know who is giving out admin rights like candy. But new users should not just get admin rights right away. As seen in the past they just make a bunch of edit and then they are now where to be seen leaving the site a mess. --Cs california

10:07, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
I have to agree on that, too much has been imported and it's just a mess. I'm ok with importing but I'd do it one page at the time so I can format it correctly after. Veilor 11:25, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
If someone is importing, it really should be with full page history (if possible). Single-revision imports aren't really any better than copy/paste imports, assuming the source is credited. - Adan Aileron (talk) 20:12, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
It isn't possible to do full history imports for 10 thousand articles. And the edit summary says its from the Wikipedia. Notice because of me there are now 17,940 pages on this wiki. Was there even 2,000 of them before? I made 16,932 edits since 2009 August 19, almost all of that from importing articles. When people Google for something now, they are far more likely to find their way here, and even an article with minor problems is better than an empty space with no article at all. Dream Focus 21:15, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
There were about 9500 articles before (I had checked some time earlier)... and of course it's possible (possibly excepting the 1000-revision limit imposed by Wikipedia). It just takes longer. However, I'm not planning any mass-deletions of the articles you added in case you're wondering.
But, an article that leaves the reader with a bad impression of Wiki Gaming could very well be worse than nothing, and a large quantity of hastily-imported content could leave a reader with the belief that Wiki Gaming is a poorly-maintained mirror of Wikipedia. That does give me some cause for concern.
At any rate, if this does bring in new editors, it might be worthwhile, and I'm willing to allow time to find out. Who knows, perhaps you might be allowed to resume importing at some later date, though I sincerely hope that's not all you're here to do. - Adan Aileron (talk) 22:47, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Adan, There is no point importing it if you are not going to fix everything and integrate previous information.-Cs california 00:57, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Articles not showing up in search[]

First off...

Well Darrylb500 isn't the one that has imported all the pages, that's Dream Focus. Just to let you knowVeilor

Yes, thank you Veilor :)

Anyway, I've written several articles on the Submachine series, none of which are showing up on a search. Putting in 'submachine' and articles 0, 3, 4, Future Loop Foundation, etc. aren't showing up. I guess it's some mild glitch or something; the only 'submachine' that comes up is some submachine gun in several games. My Submachine series article won't come up either unless you type in "Submachine series", and not just "Submachine" in the search.

I've tried with and without tags and nothing has worked yet.

Thanks in advance.

Darrylb500 04:26, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

I added in a DEFAULTSORT:Submachine command to the article. Give the server a few minutes to process that, and then hopefully when they search for that word, it'll make that article come up first. Dream Focus 06:02, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
That didn't work so I made an article Submachine which redirects to Submachine series. That gives you what you wanted. Dream Focus 20:32, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Request for sysop[]

Do you want to vote for me here? Slipknot Darkrai

Thanks. Not all of the articles had a clickable link but I added those the other night when I made some minor edits. So now they can all be linked to.

Nuts...that last comment was me, forgot to sig

Potential[]

Do you think I can become a sysop? Am I ready yet or should put this all together. Do I have the potential to have it? Slipknot Darkrai

Reply[]

Ehh... thanks ;). I also wonder what it takes to become a sysop here. Do you know? Jello Rabbit 09:56, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

Video Game Olympics[]

Hi Cs california,

Wiki is going to be hosting a Summer Video Game Olympics where you get to vote on which of your favorite video game characters would win in olympic events. We have big plans for this, it's going to be super fun, and we'd love to run the tournaments on this wiki and I just wanted to make sure you were cool with it! I'm going to leave messages for a few of the other recently active Admins... Let me know!

Peter 21:04, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Hey![]

Hey man, it's been an age since you last appeared on Codex Gamicus, I was wondering if you had any interest in coming back and help cleanup the mess Dream Focus made? Zmario 23:36, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

Not sure what the mess is. Is it when he imported categories? -Cs california (talk) 08:55, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
Templates and game articles from Wikipedia. We tracked close to 17,000 such cases, all of them unattributed. He's also done the same across Wiki's network.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 13:43, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
Does anyone here know how to write scripts for a bot that would be the easiest way to clear it. I remember something like this happened a while ago and we just had the bot erased all the edit from the guy and I think I banned him. But one of the other admins had a bot. --Cs california (talk) 10:40, December 4, 2014 (UTC)
I spoke with Wiki Staff about the Wikipedia imports. They don't like the idea of deletion as it messes with SEO. Ideally, the pages affected should be re-written from the ground up.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 23:08, December 4, 2014 (UTC)
