Hey Godzill what's up. ReichMuskrat15 (talk) 18:47, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm a bit annoyed about my Steam not working, but that should be sorted soon as I've contacted support. Otherwise I'm good, how are you? Godzilla Gamer (talk|contribs) 19:03, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

Is your chat working, cause mine isn't lol. Zmario 09:35, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

Nope, only CC works for me Godzilla Gamer (Talk) (Contributions) (Edit Count) 09:53, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

Platforms[edit source]

Nothing is broken; what's happened is that the Platforms now have to be manually defined in Template:PlatformSwitch, so we can create both descriptive, and grammatically-accurate categories.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 17:07, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Good to know, I'll add some more platforms! Godzilla Gamer (Talk) (Contributions) (Edit Count) 17:10, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Deletions[edit source]

Certainly. As you can see from the deletion log, most of the deletions have either been errant redirects, pages that had no actual content, and pages that had duplicates elsewhere on the Wiki. Some redirects have been kept (such as KOTOR), because that can be reasonably be used as a shortcut, but redirects that are translated Japanese names shouldn't be redirects (as it's not something that a Redirect should be used for; if a link needs to be created, it should use the correct article name).

A lot of content was merged from other Wikis, and a lot of it has not been maintained; this is primarily aimed at trimming the fat before the main article content of the Wiki is scrutinized and brought up to snuff.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 01:22, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Gaming Wiki List[edit source]

Hello, I am founder and administrator at Japanese PC Games Wiki.
I would like to add my wiki in the following Portals Wiki List: Japanese RPGs, Action Adventure and Platformers)
I would really appreciate it, and I don't know if I am allowed to do it myself.
Regards

Denjin Makai (talk) 05:51, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

Never be afraid to add something yourself. Unless there is any physical software restriction (ie. page protection), you have nothing to worry about. ;) George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 10:54, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, I asked Jagged85 before but I have had no answer yet.
I don't know if I may use several themes. Denjin Makai (talk) 11:47, February 16, 2015 (UTC)

helo can u plz come to chat

Subpages[edit source]

What did you have in mind?--TwoTailedFox (talk) 17:30, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

Not really anything specific, I just thought we should make the standard format of subpages more clear to contributors. George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 17:33, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

Yo bro!![edit source]

Yeah it has been awhile, not sure why I haven't been editing, guess I had other important things to do (like working :P). Zmario 14:40, May 2, 2015 (UTC)

OFLCA[edit source]

That section is deprecated now. {{{ratings}}} is the replacement for it, as it is for the rest of the ratings. {{{oflca}}}, etc, will be removed in a future update.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 13:54, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

Ah ok, thanks! :) George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 13:58, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

DOS[edit source]

Hello!

The reason that I used DOS rather than MS-DOS as an identifier is that there are multiple operating systems collectively known as "DOS". MS-DOS is most obvious example, but there were several other competitors that offered similar or identical features to MS-DOS. The most obvious examples are PC-DOS and DR-DOS, with FreeDOS being the modern-day open-source equivalent of those systems.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 18:59, May 6, 2015 (UTC)

Cheers! :) George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 14:58, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

PAL[edit source]

There is a problem with that. PAL has an exceptionally large sphere of influence. With such a wide area (PAL covers Europe, most of Africa, most of Latin America, south Asia (including India and China), and most of Oceania. Because it's such a wide-ranging area, it would effectively fall into a worldwide release, and would use the {{{ww_rel}}} variable.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 18:45, May 8, 2015 (UTC)

Article Names[edit source]

Just a heads up, the wiki's de facto naming system is to use years rather than platforms to separate games of the same name. The first game release for a name would be entitled to the article name itself, while any further games from that point with that exact same name would use the year in brackets after that.

Remakes of games may also trigger this, such as the remastered Final Fantasy IV and III games (originally for the DS, later ported to the PC), because the gameplay and features are such a radical departure from the original games.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 09:47, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

Infobox updating[edit source]

Just a few small things. Could you use the spacing that I've used previously (and have updated your updates with)? It makes the articles look more human-readable. Also, I know this next one is semantic, but could you use names such as Release, etc for templates (with a capital at the beginning)? Cheers!--TwoTailedFox (talk) 16:02, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Will do, thanks! :D George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 16:07, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

New Navbox[edit source]

Could we use the new Navbox for all series-based Templates? It saves having to create a table from scratch, saves vertical space, and is easier on the eyes than bright green. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TwoTailedFox (talkcontribs) .

Noted! :D George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 11:43, May 16, 2015 (UTC)

I like those stats[edit source]

Could I persuade you to move those to a project page?--TwoTailedFox (talk) 16:00, October 14, 2015 (UTC)

No persuasion needed. Where to? George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 15:28, October 15, 2015 (UTC)
Codex Gamicus:Stats is appropriate for now. Once a framework is in place, it can be expanded upon.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 15:44, October 15, 2015 (UTC)

Lists[edit source]

You raise a very good observation. I would very much like to see SMW lists generated by platform for genres like this, as doing it by years alone is unreliable.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 13:08, December 28, 2015 (UTC)

A plain list should be fine for now (i.e. just a list of games), we can tinker with it once we have a basic implementation.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 14:58, December 28, 2015 (UTC)

Min/Rec specs[edit source]

I know this is my fault for not writing documentation, just wanted to confirm how I list things such as the OS.

For operating systems, I generally list the minimum required out of a list (i.e. if we list Windows Vista and Windows 7, we should list Vista only, as it's the minimum system required for the software to function). The exception I make is if an OS requires updates or service packs to function (Such as Vista SP2 and Windows 7 SP1), we would list both then, because while Vista is the minimum, the succeeding OS requires updates after initial install to be compatible. Same applies to Mac OS X versions (i.e. if 10.8.3 and 10.9.1 were to be listed).--TwoTailedFox (talk) 14:08, February 7, 2016 (UTC)

Hy[edit source]

I want to ask, if I can add a Wiki of mine in the Puzzle? In the Submitions if I am right?

And this is the Wiki, I want to add in: Inkagames English Wiki.

Thanks!
