Welcome[]

Hello Skizzerz, Welcome to Game Info. I've just noticed StrategyWiki too and it's a great gaming guide wiki. I think both Game Info and StrategyWiki deserve our effort to promote! Do you think there's any way we can collaborate?--Eric 00:42, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Template Review[]

Hey, thanks a lot for modifying the template for me! I've been asking around for people who can help me for a while! =) I like it and we should embed it into all the games' review section =)--Eric 20:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks[]

Hi Skizzerz, thanks for keeping an eye on that Wikipedia/GFDL issue! That's quite a mess :-/ Could you take care for this (perhaps together with Eric?), or alternatively, could you leave one of us a note if it gets more problematic? --rieke 07:34, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Sure, I'll take care of it! If it becomes a problem in the future, I'll let one of you know. Thanks for dropping by! --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 20:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Skizzerz, I'd like to help out about the GFDL issue as well, is there anything I could do? Leave me a note.--Eric 01:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Sounds Good, I'll take a look at that.--Eric 20:59, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism directed at Guide:Looney Tunes B-Ball[]

Guide:Looney Tunes B-Ball is apparently being targeted by some kind of vandalbot. Some other wikis are getting the same treatment. The page might need to be semiprotected.--Ray Chason 19:27, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Template talk[]

Hey there, thanks for the welcome message! I've got a few questions related to template use if you are an admin for this section of wiki... First, I'd be happy to put my template in the template section, it's still a work in progress that's why I'm keeping it in my "garage" for now :)
Now about other templates, I'm wondering why the standard wikipedia class "wikitable" isn't on the monobook.css, it would be really helpfull for wikis that need fast & practical tables like mine which will use lots of them :)
By the way are you good with technical stuff ? I haven't been able to find a good collapsible template that I can work with and the collapsible & navframe classes aren't working either on wiki. Maybe you might be able to direct me to something else here ? Thanks for your time! Jean-marc 09:27, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Well thanks for thanking me for thanking you! And also thanks a lot for adding the navframe thing on gameinfo. I've tried to use it and it doesn't seem to work for me though, I made some test and it doesn't show quite like it should (at least for me -- i did click on your purge link :p), maybe you could take a look at that if I missed something... I must admit I'm not much of a technical buff myself :|
Could you explain me a little how language management is done on this wiki ? I'd like to have mine in English (of course) and French too, and I've added french pages but I don't know how to make them link as "fr:" stuff if you see what I mean! Thanks for everything anyways! Jean-marc 16:15, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Okay okay, that, is huge, what you're proposing me :) Actually, it's a lot bigger than what I thought and I'm not sure I can handle creating a whole new section of gameinfo and finding people etc... I mean, I've got plenty enough on my hands with the mini-wiki I'm trying to create :) I could find editors of course but I'd like to be able to have a core base before I make this "public". After all, I'm just editing this casually...
Of course I thank you for your help and ideas, but I think I'm gonna stick to the english wiki for now, I'll see about the french version later (if the pages in french that I created need to go, I can just move them to my own user page, can't I? Just tell me if they do :p).
Oh and, thanks for caring about the navframe stuff. It'd really come in handy (and not only for me I'm sure!). Jean-marc 23:40, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry[]

Sorry man, I just thought a speedy template would be good. What I wanted to convey is that the page Cheat Code should be deleted, it is just vague and unnecessary. -PatPeter 18:21, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Icon looks ok But It is hard to combine the two logos. You should put up some userboxes--Cs california 04:59, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Good to meet you. --Achernar 07:44, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Can wiki fix the H game problem[]

Can wiki add a javascript confirmation of age or warning before entering certain pages with pornographic material? If so we should put it up. H games are very popular (for some reason) and had the most views on the site but some people do not like them. If not too bad for them it is the internet. --Cs california 07:13, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

What you guys are doing here is completely awesome. Skiz, increased spacing on the warning would make it stand out a bit better. --Achernar 17:31, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
I will chage it to a template soon so it would easier to put in--Cs california 21:58, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
A template unfortunately does not work--Cs california 22:22, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

DynamicFunctions[]

I'll see about getting DynamicFunctions added. Only 5% of Wiki readers have disabled javascript, so the chance of someone under 18 not having javascript and reading that page is extremely low, so please don't be concerned about this. Angela (talk) 09:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I just wasn't sure of an estimate percentage of people, so I tried to discover a way for those people to read the content anyway (without having to go into editing), and that's what I discovered. Plus, there might be future applications for it, like instead of having to transclude certain pages as templates where it would be inefficient, you can just link the parameters in the URL. But, thanks for looking into it! --User:Skizzerz/sig 21:32, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Other languages[]

I found out that gameinfo had sites in other languages we should probably incorporate them like wikipedia does with the stuff in other languages. Here is the link to see all the other sites. --Cs california 09:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if that's possible for us to do just off-the-bat, as I believe it requires something declared in localsettings.php. Anyway, bug Angela or TOR about it (probably Angela would be the best bet). --User:Skizzerz/sig 21:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Merge with CheatBase[]

PatPeter has asked if Cheat Base Wiki on wiki should be merged with The encyclopedia gamia. Please cast your vote here so we can decide what to do --Cs california 08:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

RE:Archiving Current events[]

Wow you are right look on the bar on the left and you can see how I archived it. by looking under Category: Months let me just fix it now. --Cs california 21:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

From time to time I would forget to clear it Thanks for the reminder--Cs california 00:06, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Forum implementation[]

I've created a talk page here for us to discuss the forum addition. Please visit when you get a chance. --Achernar 02:02, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

EGM listings[]

Hey, it's me from the EGM pages. I was just wondering: do you or anyone you know on this site have any of the following EGM issues: August 2003 September 2003 October 2003 November 2003 (This one I need the most.) I would appreciate the help. And all I need are a list of the games in each mag in the order they're listed in the review section. Thanks in advance. Bob Greenlake 22:33, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Common.css[]

Could you look into MediaWiki talk:Common.css? -PatPeter 06:44, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Added. The other stuff is mainly superfluous and we can just add it in if needed, but I'm guessing it mostly isn't (needed). --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 18:59, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Forum admins[]

I've made Achernar and Furrykef into forum admins. They might now be able to make other users into that too, but if they can't, just ask any Community Team member to do it once there's been a discussion about who should have that role (I think it's safe enough for any active admin to be assigned forum admin rights). Angela (talk) 09:33, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Wiki Gaming Giveaway[]

Heya! I just wanted to give you a heads-up that we will be launching a Wiki Gaming giveaway this afternoon. The contest pages will live at project:Puzzle Challenge and some sub-pages there. You'll probably see some extra activity on the site during the event. I'll be protecting some of the pages in order to maintain the integrity of the event, so please don't change them in any way. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! --KyleH (talk) 17:48, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

K, I'll keep an eye out for vandalism and whatnot. Kinda sucks that it's only ages 18+, I'm only four months shy of it :P --Skizzerz 20:11, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Greetings and Question[]

Greetings and hello. I'm one of the contributors for an outside wiki project, Pathfinder Wiki, and a couple of us are interested in applying for a Wiki and transferring our work here. However, before we do so a few of our number were wondering a few things. Primarily, what are the benefits and disadvantages that come with making such a move, and how difficult would such a move be to accomplish? Any information you could provide us with would be appreciated. -- Heaven's Agent 20:50, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Upcoming Release[]

I also asked this question on AlphaTwo's Talk Page, but have not recieved a response as of yet. I and several others over at Pathfinder Wiki are wondering how to get a game added to the Upcoming Releases box that appears on the left side of Wiki Gaming projects. The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook will be released on August 13, at Gen Con Indy, and we were hoping to get it added to the list. -- Heaven's Agent 16:01, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

We were actually wondering specifically about the Upcoming Releases Infobox, the one that alternates with the What's Hot Infobox and appears on every project page. -- Heaven's Agent 19:37, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
As far as I can tell those boxes are independent of the pages they lead to; I know nothing was done to the Pathfinder Wiki to get us on the "What's Hot" listing. Nor can I find anything on the other projects that would cause them to be added. I've also been able to determine it's not a matter of doing anything to the subject's article on the central gaming wiki; for example Aion, which sits at the top of the Upcoming Release Infobox, doesn't even have an article here.
Do you have any idea who would know more information regarding the boxes? -- Heaven's Agent 20:18, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
