Windows 3.1 Multimedia PC Version (codenamed Bombay) is a graphical operating system released by Microsoft Corporation in November 1992. Support officially ended on December 31, 2001.

Features

Windows 3.1 Multimedia PC Version featured some changes over the standard Windows 3.1 release:

  • A Media Viewer and Video File Player were included
  • Integrated sound and video support, alongside CD-ROM support

However, some features were removed from this release:

  • CGA graphics support (although it could be re-added)
  • Windows 2.xx application compatibility
  • The game Reversi
