Windows 8.1 is an operating system released in October 2013 by Microsoft Corporation. It is the successor to Windows 8 and the predecessor to Windows 10. It was released to address complaints of Windows 8 users and reviewers on launch.

An improved start screen, additional snap views, additional bundled apps, tighter OneDrive integration, Internet Explorer 11, and a Bing-powered search system were among the visible enhancements to the operating system.
