Windows Mixed Reality is a mixed reality platform that incorporates elements of both AR and VR, and was introduced as part of the Windows 10 operating system. It provides holographic and mixed reality experiences with compatible head-mounted displays; these displays, because they are not focused solely on gaming, can often be bought for half the price of their gaming-focused competitors. Windows Mixed Reality devices are generally compatible with Steam VR.
