Windows NT 3.5 is a graphical operating system released by Microsoft Corporation on September 21 1994. Two versions were released: Workstation and Server; neither version supported installation on laptops due to lacking PCMCIA drivers. Support was officially discontinued on December 31, 2000.
Compatibility[edit | edit source]
Windows NT 3.5 will refuse to install on any CPU that is newer than the Intel Pentium, which means that out of the box it will refuse to install on many virtualization platforms, such as VMware Workstation. However, it is possible to modify files on the installation CD to make such installations possible. This bug was fixed in Windows NT 3.51.
