====Games vs. Education: Spectrum & C64 vs. Acorn (BBC)==== A parallel micro war raged in the UK, between the perceived games oriented Spectrum & Commodore 64 micros with the educationally marketed and more expensive [[Acorn]] ([[BBC Microcomputer]]) offering. On unit sales, the more competitively-priced Spectrum and Commodore won, and Acorn lost - though Acorn's tie-in with the BBC's "[[The Computer Programme]]" and the associated "Government Computer Literacy" and "Computer for schools" programs ensured steady sales post the bursting of the home micro bubble.
