The Jaguar II was to be the successor to the Jaguar. The console reached the lab prototype stage with partial working silicon. The project was cancelled in the summer of 1995 before a final design could be completed, and before Atari merged with hard drive manufacturer JTS Corporation. The Jaguar II was intended to be backward-compatible with the Jaguar Cartridge and Jaguar CD.
