Metroid Prime 4 is an upcoming first-person shooter game in the Metroid Prime series, being the first main entry since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in 2007. The game was revealed in a brief teaser trailer at E3 2017. While a developer was never officially announced, Bandai Namco was first to develop the game. While Reggie Fils-Aimé insisted that development was well underway, it was revealed in January 2019 that Nintendo was dissatisfied by Bandai Namco's development, and that development will restart with Retro Studios, the developer of the other games of the series.
