Mr. Goemon is a side-scrolling platform arcade game developed by Konami in 1986 based on Ishikawa Goemon, an infamous outlaw in 16th century Japan.[1]

Gameplay[ | ]

In Mr. Goemon, enemies will charge and grab the player, ending his life unless he jostles with the control stick to free himself. Later enemies will also have projectile weapons that the player must dodge. There are two ways to defeat the enemies, either by throwing a found object at them or hitting them with the player's pipe. Jumping on the opponent's head will push them down a level or off the screen entirely. Levels can feature boss battles or a pile of gold at the end with each brick worth different points depending on the level.

Ports[ | ]

Mr. Goemon was made available by Microsoft for its Game Room service for the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows - LIVE in June 2010.
