The PlayStation 4 Pro (codenamed Neo, abbreviated PS4 Pro) was announced by Sony on September 7, 2016 and launched worldwide on November 10, 2016 as model number CUH-7000.

The PlayStation 4 Pro is an updated hardware revision to the PlayStation 4, with improved hardware capacity to enable 4K video content rendering, and improved PlayStation VR performance over the PlayStation 4. Additional changes include an upgraded GPU with 4.2 teraflops of processing power, hardware support for chequerboard rendering, and a higher CPU clock.

Games marketed as PS4 Pro Enhanced may be optimized for higher graphics quality, resolution, or HDR support when running on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Although capable of streaming 4K video content, the optical drive of the PlayStation 4 Pro does not support Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.
